Sienna's Heart - Captain: Tony Caballero

Alexander's Angels envisions a world where individuals with Down syndrome are not defined by their disability but by their individuality.

Sienna Rose Caballero

Feb.03, 2009 - Jan. 20, 2012

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beautiful angel on earth. Born with Down Syndrome, Sienna didn’t let anything get in her way of growing, thriving and learning. She was a ray of sunshine and had a smile that lit up a room. A bundle of joy, love and happiness is what she shared with us each day.

Sienna started Early Intervention at three months of age and began preschool at 2½. She enjoyed going to school and was loved by all of her family, friends and teachers. Sienna was also quite the seasoned traveler. She vacationed in San Juan and toured the cities of Boston, Sedona and Phoenix. She saw the majestic Grand Canyon, rode the trolleys throughout San Francisco and, even escaped from Alcatraz. Sienna loved dining at great restaurants, staying in wonderful hotels and was never afraid to try something exciting and new.

Sienna’s involvement with Alexander’s Angels helped further the awareness and needs of children with Down Syndrome everywhere. Each year she led her family and friends through Buddy Walks. Each year team “Sienna’s Heart” helps raise additional funding for children with Down Syndrome everywhere. Please join us on our Buddy Walk and please continue to support team "Sienna's Heart" Go to the following web address to sign up or donate. Thank You.

About the Buddy Walk

The Buddy Walk® was created by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.  The Buddy Walk® has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to over 250 each year with at least one in every state across the country and many abroad.  The Buddy Walk program is supported nationally by NDSS and organized at the local level by parent support groups and other organizations, schools, and motivated individuals.

Alexander's Angels has been the organizer of the Buddy Walk® on Long Island since its inception in 2007.  In addition to sustaining the corporation, funds raised by Alexander's Angels benefit local programs and services, Down syndrome cognitive research, as well as local and national advocacy and awareness initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.

Alexander's Angels Mission
Alexander's Angels, Inc. Mission:  To further awareness of the contributions and needs of individuals with Down syndrome and to raise funds for advocacy, service, and research organizations.
